Explore the variety and precision of medical blades and burs available at Manners Technology. Learn about their applications in ENT, knee, and shoulder surgeries, and how advanced manufacturing ensures optimal performance.
The medical-grade “blade”, also known as “shaver” or “drill”, can be referred to as “nasal drill”, “knee blade”, “shoulder blade”, among other names, depending on the surgical site. Additionally, they are categorized by their processing characteristics, such as “full radius blade”, “fast cut blade”, and “clean cut blade”. Despite these varying names, a blade essentially consists of two components: a hollow outer blade and an inner bur, which can be customized with interchangeable tips. This combination improves intraoperative functionality and precision when incising or removing soft tissue, hard tissue, or bone. Manners Technology offers a broad range of blades and burs designed to support even the most challenging surgical procedures.
▲ Blade and Bur Components
Based on different application scenarios, there are several categories for these blades and burs.
Blades
Full Radius Blade: Ideal for the resection and debridement of soft tissue and bone.
Fast Cut Blade: A versatile blade that removes extensive tissue, providing greater control and precision while reducing fatigue.
Clean Cut Blade: A hybrid blade with teeth for aggressive resection and a smooth window for a clean cut.
Other specialized blades include Quad Cut Blade, Straight Sinus Blade, Curved Sinus Blade, Aggressive Blades, Bevel Edge Cutter Dissector, Tonsillectomy and Adenoidectomy Blades, Nasal Blade, Airway Blade, and more, designed for various surgical applications.
▲ Different Types of Blades
Burs
Round Bur: Used for aggressive preparation of bony sites, debridement of cartilage, osteophyte resection, and roughening of sclerotic lesions.
Oval Bur: Designed for extensive bone and cartilage removal, especially in the subacromial space, acromioplasty, and notchplasty.
Spherical Bur: Ideal for notchplasty and osteochondral debridement.
Other specialized burs include tapered diamond choanal atresia bur, bullet diamond bur, bullet cutting bur, reverse tapered cutting bur, and many more designed for different surgical needs.
▲ Varieties of Burs
Applied in different surgical scenarios for ENT, knees, shoulders, and more, these blades and burs can perform soft tissue resection, bone cutting, and ablation/coagulation, enhancing precision during arthroscopic surgery. As a core product of Manners Technology, these blades offer special modes to facilitate operations and improve surgical efficiency.
Utilizing a five-axis CNC grinding center, blades can be precision-ground into any desired shape, meeting customer requirements for sharpness, cutting edge depth, number of flutes, tooth profiles, and thread angles. The use of ultra-high corrosion resistance, high wear resistance, strong impact resistance, and high-toughness stainless steel ensures prolonged sharpness retention for both inner and outer edges.

Standard blades are stocked in 304, 316 L, L 605, Ni-Ti, and other exotic alloys at Manners Technology. Custom sizes can be quoted upon request. Our engineers recommend that the tip of the blade material be made from 630 or 17-4 for hardening treatment, with a hardness of HRC 52-56. This ensures high hardness and a better surface finish of the inner tube tip head. Manners Technology is dedicated to providing maximum performance and durability.
For example, in ENT surgery, by simply rotating the tip of the curved blade, you can perform 360-degree cutting in the frontal sinuses, completely removing polyps and mucin in the maxillary sinuses and gaining greater access to target tissue in the lateral and posterior areas of the airway. Featuring ultra-high coaxiality, the blade can be adapted to Galaxy Insight endoscopic surgery power equipment and other mainstream equipment on the market. At 12,000 RPM high speed, it remains smooth and controllable without jitter, wear-resistant, and debris-free.
With advanced and comprehensive production systems, as well as extensive production and machining capabilities, Manners Technology employs various precision technologies, resulting in highly efficient applications. We offer a variety of standard shavers and burs for super-sharp, clean, and excellent cutting during surgery.
